Kohl’s announced Thursday that it will close stores throughout the country through at least April 1 because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Kohl’s will offer store associates two weeks of pay, CEO Michelle Gass said.
“We will continue to serve customers on Kohls.com and our Kohl’s app, and we look forward to reopening our stores soon to serve families across the country,” Gass said.
The company announced earlier this week it would reduce the hours its stores are open to ensure the locations are well-staffed and cleaned. Many other department and grocery stores throughout the country have done the same.
Kohl’s joins Macy’s and Nordstrom as major department stores to close its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
