Coach Jimbo Fisher made a few waves Sunday when he ejected star defensive back Jalen Ramsey near the end of an open practice at Doak Campbell Stadium.
The ejection came on the heels of several physical altercations between Ramsey and some teammates, the last of which occurred near quarterback Jameis Winston. FSU’s quarterbacks are not permitted to receive contact at practices. Tempers, of course, often run high on practice fields. But Fisher said that what happened Sunday wasn't typical.
“[Ramsey] was told not to do something and he defied me,” Fisher said. “We’ll judge from there, and I'm very upset with him.”
Ramsey, who can play safety and cornerback, had 49 tackles on the way to several freshman All-American honors in 2013.
Fisher said Ramsey’s actions were out of character and showed a lack of leadership.
“He’ll decide if he wants to play at Florida State,” he said.John Franklin III
